The Issues
There are an abundance of issues that the church should be (and often is) addressing. But here at ActivistFaith.org we’ve identified twelve core issues that we think are critically important today. These twelve issues are also going to be the chapters of the book that we’re putting together right now.
- Crime and Urban Decay

Innovative ministries and new approaches are changing the face of prison ministry and making a dent in the rapidly growing urban centers of America. Restorative justice, fair sentencing, and biblically-based rehab have the potential to turn America’s streets safe again. - Emergency Response/Natural Disasters

They almost always come with little to no warning, which is why natural disasters often cause big problems where ever they happen. In their wake they leave many seriously injured and/or dead, and they destroy the homes and workplaces where we live. What’s the church’s role in responding to these emergencies? - Environmental Care

America has always sent missionaries “to the nations”, but today the nations are arriving on our own shores. Will immigrants be welcomed as strangers by the church or will their spiritual welfare be stunted by the politics of the moment? - Orphan Care
Lead Activist/Editor: Dan King
The Bible is clear about the church’s call to care for the fatherless and the orphan. While adoption is a great way to deal with this epidemic, there are many other ways that the church can engage this issue. - Poverty

Many of the other issues like human trafficking, orphan care, crime and urban decay, etc., all have their root in poverty. If we can deal with this issue properly, then we can make bigger strides in the others. - Religious Freedom

Since 1973, abortion has roiled every major political campaign, but beneath the surface, the church is effecting change, one confused young girl at a time. While debates continue in Washington, evangelicals are helping to establish a culture of life that embraces both mother and child, from birth to death. - Sex and Family
Lead Activist/Editor: Daniel Darling
While society continues to push the borders of the traditional family, the church has an opportunity to mentor the next generation of parents and speak with a firm, but compassionate voice on the biblical view of sexuality. - War, Terrorism, and Genocide
Lead Activist/Editor: Dan King
Wars were commonplace in the Scriptures. But what is the Christian response to war? Is there such thing as a just war? We’ll pay special attention to unjust war, terrorism, and acts of genocide, and how the church can/should respond when these injustices occur.
